I am privileged to serve as the Vice Principal of Education at the Smith Foundation.

My journey in education began in Liverpool, where I earned a Combined Honours Degree in History and Sports Science in 2004. Following this, I completed the Graduate Teacher Program at Bradford University, qualifying as a History teacher. I have loved teaching History and helping students understand how our world has been shaped, while encouraging curiosity, fostering empathy, and empowering students to think critically, explore different perspectives, and become informed and thoughtful individuals.

Through my teaching, I quickly developed a deep passion for advocating for and empowering young people—nurturing high aspirations, providing support, and guiding them toward achieving their goals. Strong, positive relationships are very important to me, and I firmly believe they are foundational to creating a genuine sense of belonging and community—values I hold dear in both my professional and personal life.

I am very sociable, and outside of working hours, I cherish spending time with family and friends. Sport plays a significant role in my life; my husband has devoted his career to Rugby League, and our three sons are passionate players. Supporting them is a joy and a great source of pride, and you will often find me championing them from the side lines. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of these sports communities and the friendships and memories they have created.

Beyond sport, I enjoy travelling and embracing new experiences. Our family often explores the coast in our touring caravan, enjoys skiing during the winter months, and seizes opportunities to travel whenever possible.
